The gift of time — from the SCC Women’s Club to Our Lady’s Pantry.  Thanks so much!

“For many years already the Sun City Center (SCC) Women’s Club has supported Our Lady’s Pantry with periodic food drives and spontaneous gifts of food,” says director Tom Bullaro.  “But this past Saturday, September 30, they offered us the gift of their time!  In fact, more than a dozen women spent hours at the Pantry working behind the scenes organizing food and then distributing it to our clients.”

Linda Raymond, who is the vice president of the General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC), here in SCC, says that September 30 was the National Day of Service for this group.

The first shift of helpers from the Sun City Center Women's Club started work before dawn on September 30.

“The GFWC is united in its dedication to volunteer community service,” says Raymond.  "This year’s focus is food insecurity, so working at Our Lady’s Pantry was an easy choice.  We know what they do and we like to help whenever we can.  In fact, at our last meeting this past week, our members donated 45 big boxes of cereal to the Pantry.”

“We so appreciate the continuous care we receive from the SCC Women’s Club — and we thank them very much.” says Bullaro.  “It is only because of the support of this amazing community that Our Lady’s Pantry has been able to keep its doors open since 1999!"
