Our Lady’s Pantry thanks Tomiak Foundation again!
Dr. Arthur and Susan Bailyn surprised a group of Pantry volunteers one Saturday morning recently when they arrived with an unsolicited donation of $2,500 given by the Tomiak Foundation.
“This is the second time the Bailyns surprised us with a gift,” says Pantry director Tom Bullaro. “Last year they gave us $10,000, which we used toward operating expenses, including the repair of one of our refrigerated trucks.”
Susan explained that The Mildred and Gladys Tomiak Foundation was started by two sisters in 2016. The sisters simply wanted to do what they could to make the world a better place, she says. Their organization is designed to provide general humanitarian relief where possible. The Foundation is especially interested in supporting the well-being of seniors.
According to Susan, Mildred and Gladys Tomiak were Ukranian, so much of the Foundation’s funds for distribution this year went directly to that country.

“We still wanted the Pantry to have this donation as well,” says Susan. “We all benefit when we help one another. We are so happy we can help.”
“We are so grateful to Susan and Arthur for this donation,” says Bullaro.
