“Our Lady’s Pantry is grateful to the Kennard L. and Barbara J. Pyse Family Foundation for their gift of $1,000 for food,” says Pantry director Tom Bullaro.
“With the price of food soaring steadily, along with a general inflation, more and more people are struggling to put food on their table day after day,” he says. “In fact, we are seeing an average 500 clients coming to our drive-through every two weeks.”
According to Bullaro, everything changed during the Pandemic, followed by the current inflation on all prices, including rent and utilities. Many persons of all ages are struggling to make ends meet these days.
“The mission of Our Lady’s Pantry, however, is to provide food and sustenance to the underserved, the poor in our community, and those in need of temporary relief of groceries until such time as they are back on their feet,” Bullaro says. “This gift from the Pyse Family Foundation, at the Community Foundation Tampa Bay, will allow us to purchase more nutritious food for our neighbors in need. We are so appreciative of this gift.”
