Our Lady's Pantry receives $500 gift from SCC Women's Club!

The Sun City Center Women's Club is dedicated to addressing the most pressing needs of our community.  With this mission in mind, they help support many organizations in and around town.  Most recently, Our Lady's Pantry was the fortunate recipient of one of their gifts.

Tom Bullaro, who serves as co-director of Our Lady's Pantry with his wife Anita, says he and Anita were delighted one recent Saturday to receive a generous donation of $500 from Sharon Alvarez and Virginia Kimball, officers of the local club.

“Because we purchase most of our food at Feeding Tampa Bay, our regional food bank, this $500 will go a very long way,” he says.  “This donation is especially welcome at this time of year as we try to provide our families with plenty food for the upcoming holidays.”

Alvarez, president of the local Women's Club, says their club is pleased to support Our Lady's Pantry, “because their mission of feeding those in need during the Holidays, and year round, touches our hearts.”

According to Bullaro, Our Lady's Pantry provides big boxes of groceries for about 400 different families every two weeks.  “Given that many Pantry families have lots of children, we are helping to alleviate hunger for about 1,600 men, women, and children on a regular basis.”

Our Lady's Pantry is located across from Aldi's on the campus of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Migrant Mission.  “We are in the classroom building on the far right-hand corner of the campus,” says Bullaro.  “If you are in need of extra groceries to prepare nutritious meals for your family, please visit us on Saturday morning between 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.  We look forward to meeting you one day.”
