Our Lady's Pantry overwhelmed by Letter Carrier's Food Drive

Saturday, May 11, was the 27th annual Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive for local food pantries.  It was an “overwhelming success,” according to Tom Bullaro, co-director of Our Lady of Guadalupe Food Pantry.

“Our Pantry was blessed with more than 10,000 pounds of food from the collection this year,” says Bullaro.  “Six other pantries received much food as well.

Our Lady's Pantry received a stunning 10,000 pounds of food from the Letter Carrier's Drive this year!

“We have never received this much food at one time ever before!  In addition to filling all available space in our truck, our volunteers filled two additional cars to capacity!

“Many thanks to all those who donated food for those who are food insecure.  A big thanks, as well, to the countless letter carriers who collected the food — and to Sister Sara Proctor, with Catholic Charities, who organized the distribution of food at our local post office.

“If you know anyone in need of food, please urge them to come to Our Lady's Pantry some Saturday morning,” says Bullaro.  “No one needs to go hungry in this community.  We have plenty food to share.”  www.OurLadysPantry.com
