Can you help? | Our Lady of Guadalupe Food Pantry

Men and women packing boxes of food

A team of volunteers work together every Saturday morning packing boxes of food for our families.

It takes many hands to do all that needs to be done at Our Lady's Pantry. On Tuesday and Friday mornings, for example, volunteers leave Wimauma about 6 a.m. to drive our truck to Feeding America — Tampa Bay, our regional food bank. Here, we purchase food for our families and haul it back to the Pantry. When the truck returns about 9 a.m. a team of helpers unload the truck, storing perishables in our cooler or freezer. Non-perishables are then sorted and placed in shelves for Saturday mornings. After unloading the first run, drivers head out again to pick up additional donations from local food markets.

Our care for and love of the poor illuminates our work in the Pantry, fueling endless hours of labor as we prepare to bring some food relief for our neighbors on Saturday mornings.

Volunteers always appreciated. Can you help?

Just visit us at Our Lady's Pantry any Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday morning and ask for Anita or Tom.
